Submissions for the 2015 Sustainability Achievement and Green Routine Awards are due by June 19, 2015. Please complete the nomination form and return it and any supporting documentation to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Nomination” in the subject line.
The Green Routine awards are designed to recognize VA employees who have developed, initiated, and/or significantly contributed to grassroots efforts and programs, outside of their daily duties, to instill and encourage green, sustainable practices at their workplace.
Federal mandates dictate that VA reduce energy and water consumption, purchase greener products and services, increase waste diversion (i.e., recycling), decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and more. VA employees can help improve the environment and help VA meet these mandates. Recognition of these efforts also further the sustainability goals set forth by Secretary Shinseki.
